Mission Statement

The Detroit Rescue Mission Ministries, a non-profit corporation, is committed to sharing the gospel of the love of Jesus Christ, providing hope to the hopeless, disadvantaged, abused and homeless men, women and children of our community. In "rebuilding the inner-city one life at a time" by ministering to the total person- body, soul and spirit - we help them become faithful Christians, discipled into a local church rehabilitate, employed and living productive lives in restored families.


The Detroit Rescue Mission Ministries (DRMM) is a private non-profit organization that assist homeless individuals. We assist over 700,000 individuals a year.

Founded in 1909, DRMM is the largest agency of its type in the country, consisting of a variety of programs aimed at rebuilding the inner-city, " one life at a time". Our programs include transitional housing , residential substance abuse programs, a teen moms program, emergency shelter, veterans program, permanent housing, and prevention programs for at risk youth which includes a camp for inner-city children and teens.

I was a resident of The Detroit Rescue Mission Ministries about 15 years ago because I was homeless. Everyone was kind and they treated me with respect. I would like to volunteer at a organization that can relate to people regards of the ruff spots that they encounter in life.
