Mission Statement

Mission Through a rigorous college preparatory curriculum and partnerships with the community, the Community Multimedia Academy develops students who are advocates for themselves and others, community oriented, conflict mediators, goal oriented and self-aware. Vision ? CMMA uses partnerships with community organizations and individuals to support our curriculum and students ? Provides academic support, guidance and emphasizes interdisciplinary and project based curriculum ? Through curriculum and goals, CMMA focuses on youth development ? Students develop a digital portfolio highlighting and reflecting on their academic accomplishments and their multimedia skills

Description

CMMA is a CA Partnership Academy and we work with moslty low income students of color from grades 10-12. Students stay with CMMA for three years taking classes with the same teachers and students. Interdisciplinary curriculum focuses on social justice issues as we build a tight knit and supportive community. Projects often include media work: web, print, video and radio. Creating a college going and academically rigourous culture for underserved youth are central goals of our work.
