Our mission is to use media and the performing arts to transform young people into artists, thinkers, and socially responsible community leaders
Lil’ Filmmakers is a video instructional workshop and production studio that brings the magic of Hollywood to young people. Our media and visual arts programs introduce youth to scriptwriting, acting, video production technology, directing, editing and producing.
Our philosophy is to give youth the creative and social skills necessary to succeed in fulfilling their artistic goals and interest. Additionally, we offer a safe and fun learning environment where youth can be open creatively, train with the latest video technology and work with established artists in the film industry. Our mission is to transform our youth into artists, thinkers, and socially responsible community leaders.
Our program has four main goals:
Deconstruct popular cultural and the mainstream media to allow youth to think objectively about the images they see in movie and videos.
To reinforce the importance of oral communication, reading and writing.
Show youth how social skills (i.e., leadership, teamwork, interpersonal skills, etc.) play a valuable role in the creation of their movie and in everyday life.
Provide youth with industry standard hands-on training and experience that will help further their interest in a career in media arts.
