Description

The Squaxin Island Tribe Memtor Program serves all Native youth grades 4-8 in the Shelton School District. The mentor/mentee relationship is designed to parallel the tradition of elders teaching the younger. Youth are matched with positive role models for school and reservation based activities. Program activities are designed to keep culture alive through language, art, and learning. Youth will also receive information about vocational and college pursuits. The primary purpose of the relationship is to focus in fostering areas of personal interest. Ultimately, enhancing leadership, integrity, and honor in our young people.
