Mission Statement
Our mission is to preserve and enhance the natural resources of Benzie County
Description
The Benzie Conservation District is a local unit of state government established in 1945. The guiding philosophy of all conservation districts is that decisions on conservation issues should be made at the local level, by local people. Technical assistance is provided by a professional staff. We are stewards of natural resources and take an eco-system approach to conservation and protection. Serving our community as a "gateway," we link landowners and visitors with a host of conservation service providers that include federal, state, and local governments; conservation organizations; and internet resources. We diligently study the needs of our community. We work in partnership to support local priorities and develop action plans to solve natural resource problems. Our conservation district allows the public a point of access in the community when questions arise regarding natural resource management and information.
