Description

We Believe

We believe in a holistic approach to conservation, one grounded in a systematic understanding of the ecological, social, and economic relationships that shape environmental problems. Our work is founded in science and supported by strategic partnerships, well-informed decision-making processes, and a strong commitment to improving lives through protecting nature. We recognize that in order for conservation to succeed, it must be coupled with science, community engagement, and strong systems of support upon which to collaboratively build a more sustainable future.

I volunteered with Osa Conservation's sea turtle program for about a month. I would NOT recommend spending your time and money on this program. The entire organization lacks structure and leadership. The sea turtle "research" is done by people who are not qualified at all. There is no researcher there with a PhD or even masters and there has been nothing published with the data collected over 7 years. Your safety will not be made a priority and you will be made to feel like you should be okay being put in risky situations. Finally, the cost of volunteering with the program is exorbitant. The 700 first week fee is insane, especially for what you get. Check out the Drake's Bay sea turtle program. I've heard great things about them and their program is 200/week.
