KidSAKE Equips, empowers, and engages young people in arts-based programming and service initiatives, building better communities world-wide.

Description

Our annual Picasso Project engages schools, individuals, artists, and others in a collaborative peace project, full-length play, over 20 exhibits of live art, replicas, and reprints from the 20th century.

Our Honduras Project has engaged hundreds of individuals in service to the women and children of Cane, Honduras, several orphanages and the U.S. Service men and women. We work with The Clementina Martinez Foundation and a soup kitchen to empower the women to self-reliance. We also participate in arts-based projects there.

We currently developing our arts-based service initiatives in Port Huron, MI; the thumb region of Michigan.In the winter of 2014, we will launch our 90/10 Theatre Project, an apprentice program for young students (10-24) to learn areas of production: writing, design, production, performance, event planning and management; front of house, etc.

Our arts studio offers classes, workshops, event space rental and consultation opportunities. We have a retail shop that supports our mission and our work. We sell fair trade chocolate, coffee, gifts, we have hand made specialty gifts from around the world and the U.S. We have a unique vision and mission to engage young people we serve in acts of service.

Our annual peace project is in its second year and will be entered in ArtPrize in Grand Rapids, MI.

We believe in using Art for Good all the time.
