We are looking for Bowling volunteers in Allegheny County over the summer, and volunteers are needed to make that happen! As a volunteer, you would help us support and guide Special Olympics athletes in developing sports skills. Practice is Saturday’s at 1:00pm at Miracle Lanes in Monroeville, PA. The season runs from late summer until late fall. We are looking to start up some Tennis clinics in Allegheny County over the summer, and volunteers are needed to make that happen! Tennis would be a new Special Olympics sport for Allegheny, and these clinics will help us gauge the interest of athletes. As a volunteer, you would help support and guide Special Olympics athletes in developing sports skills. We are still determining the best day of the week and time for practice, but it would be one day a week for 1-2 hours, running from late June until August. Practices run from early September until December.

Mentor a Special Olympics athlete in Montgomery, Schuylkill and Erie counties! Special Olympics empowers athletes to become contributing and respected members of society. Our Athlete Leadership Program prepares athletes for meaningful positions of influence and leadership, both on and off the playing field. Mentors support athletes in their journey to become Athlete Leaders. As a mentor, you will support Special Olympics athletes in their journey to become Athlete Leaders. Mentors are matched with an athlete and offer ongoing support, constructive feedback and encouragement. This volunteer role is a hybrid position - some of the work can be done from home and some of the work involves being present at Special Olympics or community events. Most mentors volunteer 5-10 hours per month. No experience is necessary - just a willingness to support Special Olympics and it's athletes!
