Our Special Olympics program in Montgomery County is in need of coaches for volleyball! Support athletes with intellectual disabilities to discover their own strengths and abilities, and serve as a role model both on and off the playing field. Description: Organize practices and support the athletes and other coaches. Sports knowledge is helpful but not necessary; we will provide training. Commitment: Volleyball is a fall sport that runs from mid-August to November. The team practices at the Conshohocken Fellowship House The commitment typically ranges from 8-10 weeks for 1 1/2 hours per week, plus opportunities to attend competitions. Requirements: Complete the volunteer application. Complete Background Checks through SOPA (For volunteers 18 and older) Complete General Orientation, Protective Behaviors training and Concussion training Coaches will have opportunities to attend in person or virtual sport specific coaches training

Special Olympics Pennsylvania is seeking a Community Team Leader volunteer to help keep our programs running in Centre County, PA! The Community Team Leader volunteers for Special Olympics Pennsylvania outside of the sports environment. They seek to connect to community resources, groups, service organizations and others throughout their local area to increase involvement and awareness of Special Olympics. Relevant experience is always welcome, but not necessary! Time Commitment: Community Team Leaders typically volunteer for 1-2 hours per week, with occasional additional hours when there are special events. Most volunteer work can be completed from home. Young Athletes is an innovative sports play program for children with and without intellectual disabilities age 2 to 7. The program includes active games, songs, and other play activities that help children develop motor, social, and cognitive skills. We are looking to start a new Young Athletes program in the Greensburg area, and we need your help! We are looking for at least 2 volunteers to help guide our Young Athletes through the program. The Young Athletes program meets for 1 hour per week, for 8 weeks. Volunteers: Provide instruction, guidance and encouragement to Young Athletes. Using the provided supplies and Tool Kit, lead Young Athletes through various activities. Inspire self-confidence, teamwork and good sportsmanship
