P.O.E 4 KIDS is the brain child of Derrick Clark and Tiffany Reed. The foundation is named in honor of Ms. Mabelline Poe. Ms. Poe was Tiffany’s childcare provider, who suddenly dies at the early age of 42.
The non -profit foundation will serve as a company to help promote today’s youth. Memphis is one of the leading cities of crime. Most of the crimes are being committed by our youths. Those crimes include but are not limited to rape, murder, and robbery. The youths of today are being led into the wrong path of life. P.O.E. 4 KIDS plans to turn that wrong path into the right direction. Services will include organized sports, mentoring programs, dance lessons, modeling classes, drama classes and career assessments, health carnivals for kids, and kids’ festivals
The main focus areas will be urban areas in the city. It has been found that children in these areas are poverty stricken, come from single parent households and are not taught to have dreams, goals or ambitions. They are simply taught how to survive in their communities. P.O.E 4 KIDS plans to turn our troubled youth into successful citizens of the community. By using different approaches and strategies this can be accomplished.
