The Mission of Arthritis Introspective (AI) is to improve the lives of young- and middle-aged adults living with arthritis and rheumatic diseases through wellness education, empowerment, and local support groups.
We are a 100% volunteer run organization with volunteer supporting our cause across the US almost all of our opportunities can be done remotely.
Arthritis Introspective focuses on a specific, often overlooked population, adults who were diagnosed with arthritis as children and those diagnosed in early adulthood. Of the 50 million Americans living with some form of arthritis, 7.6% are between the ages 18-44 (www.cdc.gov) AI provides a supportive network for those trying to balance college, careers, finances and family while living with a chronic and debilitating disease.
Arthritis Introspective fulfills its mission in three ways:
Local AI Support Groups - Our group leaders (Outreach Relations Specialists) complete an comprehensive online training program, providing them with the tools necessary for leading a successful group in their community. Local AI Support Groups hold educational and social events that provide information, support and friendship for those living with the disease and for those who love them.
National Gathering - Our annual conference brings together people living with rheumatic diseases and their loved ones from across the country for a weekend of education, empowerment, and relationship building. The Gathering features health and wellness experts, motivational speakers, health expos and an opportunity to socialize and share personal stories.
Outreach - Our national website (www.arthritisintrospective.org) serves as the portal for everything AI, including information on local AI events, the National Conference, arthritis-related news and discoveries, education and information, the AI quarterly newsletter and the hub of the AI Support Group online training program.
