Mission Statement

Mission statement

The AVA/Haven is an education organization. Our mission is to help educate the community regarding the house rabbit and to secure foster and then permanent homes for rabbits. In addition, The Rabbit Haven project provides education, training, rabbit rescue and placement. The rabbit haven works with a variety of shelters from Watsonville to Sacramento. At shelters will offer care and support to rabbits in need. We operate many different programs: a foster program, volunteer program, adoption project and a community education program. At the Rabbit Haven we are all-volunteer. We are a community based organization. We need volunteers for all aspect of the Rabbit Haven program.

We are able to work with a variety of volunteers. Accounting, bookkeeping, data entry, grants, public speaking, and especially for our BunnyFest event, held once a year in Campbell. The Haven accepts volunteers from a variety of counties, not only Santa Cruz County.
