Description
The Connection Pet Therapy Program is a program of the Harcum House (formerly the Child Advocacy Center of Fairfield County) that works to establish worthwhile volunteer opportunities for our registered therapy dog teams. Our Dog Tales Reading Program offered in libraries throughout Fairfield County allows school-age children to practice their reading skills in a fun, non-judgmental environment. The Connection also offers pet therapy visits and presentations about what animal-assisted activity/therapy is and it's benefits, humane education and how to become a register therapy dog team with us. This visits and presentations are available for schools, nursing homes, clubs, community groups and social service organizations.
