Mission Statement
The Manhattan International High School (MIHS) was founded in 1993 as an alternative high school dedicated to serving recently arrived limited English proficient students. It is a place where collaboration among faculty and students, respect for all cultures and ethnicities, academic honesty, and performance-based assessment of student work over time are expected and valued.
Description
MIHS is a small learning community of approximately three hundred and ten students. Admitted students have been in the US for less than four years and have scored below the 21st percentile on the Language Assessment Battery - Revised exam (LAB-R). Students hail from over 50 different countries and speak more than 30 different languages and dialects.
