Description

Vision Statement

One of our first projects is a summer camp called Camp Laughter, expected to begin in the summer of 2007. Located in Portland, Oregon, Camp Laughter will welcome children ages 6-21, who are coming from low-income, unsupportive, or abusive families. The inclusive mission of Camp Laughter is to embrace, in this group, children who are disabled, or have other mental, physical, or emotional obstacles to overcome. Children will be encouraged to love and grow in their friendships with the others they meet at this camp. They will be taught by example that all humans are equal, and they will be encouraged and aided in their growth as members of our community.

Our second vision for the World Children's Project is to progress beyond our own community and begin to reach out to children in other parts of the world. Hopefully, in doing so, we will begin to create a sense of unity among those hands that hold the world's future. In summer 2006 we will be starting a children's library in Niger in order to increase literacy and education in West Africa.

NOTICE: Currently these are the visions of the World Children's Project! At this time we are looking for people who are ready to help us get these things, and other things, started in our community! Please e-mail with any questions. Fundraising at schools is great, as is finding other donors who are family members or friends. We are a registered non-profit with documentation and would love to speak directly with anyone wishing to aid us in this portion of the project. If you are interested in coming to camp please continue checking the website to see when new postings of dates appear, or you can e-mail and get onto our direct e-mail list so that you can be up to date about what is going on with this corporation. Thank you I hope to be hearing from you soon!
