Mission Statement
Our main goals and objectives are to:
> Offer direct tangible assistance (i.e. non-perishable foods, clothing), and medical and school supplies to established non-profit orphanages. Support programs that assist these children.
> Manage expenses to a bare minimum by volunteers and donated services whenever possible. No salary or compensation is paid to any members for their services.
> Require strict accountability from all members and those being granted funding by H.O.W.
> Fund projects that support the social needs of orphans, their environment, and developmental efforts of their community. No support will be provided to projects that are operated or controlled by the Haitian government, nor may funds be used for any lobbying efforts.
> Obtain funds and resources from member contributions, fund-raising, and other various sources that want to donate.
Description
Haitian Orphans Wish (HOW) is comprised of many dedicated friends who come together to help abandoned children in Haiti . We each take a personal stand to make sure that these impoverished children reap the benefits of our organization. During meetings the third Sunday of every month, HOW strategically plans for our fundraising, follows up on our beneficiaries, and discusses all other aspect of the organization.
As the economic and social situation worsens in Haiti , many forget the thousands, possibly millions, of children who are not only born into poverty but have no family to depend on. These children are our priority. We want to educate and promote the awareness of the grim and unfortunate circumstance that they face daily, as well as provide immediate and long term relief to as many orphans as possible.
