Mission Statement

Julia Temple Healthcare Center is a memory-care facility that has partnered with Modus Volunteers to create a vibrant, effective, and innovative volunteer program to benefit the seniors in our care. Julia Temple is a place where residents and their families feel loved, informed, and comfortable; it is our pleasure to serve each and every resident in our facility.

We are a long-term care facility for those struggling with dementia as well as a short-term rehabilitation residence for those requiring therapy to return home.

I greatly enjoyed my time spent at Julia Temple and I would still be volunteering there if I hadn't moved away from the area! The residents loved seeing me every time I was there and we had great conversations and played games and even made pizza together! It made me very happy when the residents remembered who I was and the staff always let me know how much they appreciated me being there! Once we even got to go on a field trip to see some live music and it was amazing to see the residents singing along with the songs and enjoying their time out! Thank you Julia Temple for giving me the opportunity to volunteer with you and I hope to come back and visit someday soon!

Have a heart to make a difference in people's lives? I do, and I found Julia Temple to be THE place to do just that. I have been a volunteer since Spring of 2014. The special folks who have made Julia Temple their home, and the staff who care for them, make it my favorite place to be every week. You may think that volunteering with folks who have dementia takes a special or qualified person. And you are right! If you can sit and hold someone's hand, offer some glitter in your smile or just say a warm "hello", then you've got what it takes to make a difference. You can be especially qualified to volunteer! And another thing: These folks become your friends. What a special thing. Come join us! Your heart will be happy you did. :)

Volunteering with Julia Temple is rewarding because staff are warm and grateful, residents are extremely welcoming to hugs and conversation, and it is an easy process to become involved. I started volunteering with Julia Temple in 2007 and it has been amazing to see how the community and organization continues to improve the way their seniors live by promoting engaged staff and compassionate volunteers.
