Description

A History of Help, Hope and Healing
Brighton Hospital was founded more than 50 years ago on visionary Harry Henderson?s belief that alcoholism is a treatable disease. When Harry opened the doors of his gracious country-home style treatment center nestled in a serene setting, he set a high standard for
treatment.

Brighton continues to be a standard bearer and innovator in chemical dependency treatment based on the medical model and 12-step program participation. We now know that addiction to any other drug, including heroin, marijuana, crack/cocaine, prescription drugs and methamphetamine also can be treated when people find help and hope. People with a
chemical dependency and their families find both at Brighton?a fully licensed and accredited acute care hospital.

One of Harry?s colleagues was Dr. Bill Wilson, a co-founder of Alcoholics Anonymous. They believed that alcoholism is a physical, mental and spiritual disease that can be treated with
medical intervention, counseling and a strong spiritual life supported by 12-step programs.

That belief still guides all addiction treatment at Brighton, along with a healthy dose of compassion, patience, love, and powerful, ongoing concern for people with addictions
and their families.

I am a recovering alcoholic and tried in-patient rehab 4 times before I was lucky enough to be admitted to Brighton hospital. This place saved my life in every way. The program is extremely intense and the staff geuninely care and support you while you are there. They do not lie to you and tell you the program is easy, and all you need is will power, which is what I was always told at other rehab facilities. Sobriety is tough, one of the hardest things I have ever encountered in my life. The lessons and tools for sobriety I left Brighton with are still with me now, almost 12 years later. I am still sober and thanks to what I was able to take with me from there I am confident I will remain this way for the rest of my life. After each prior facility I had been to the longest period of sobriety I had obtained was about 2 months. Their program is unique and it works.

this place can't even treat their employees well, i highly doubt they manage to do any good for their clients. don't believe the hype, don't fall for the nice pretty picture they paint for you in their mission statement and description. this is a totally horrible place that should NOT be supported in any way. Boycott Brighton and also their parent organization, St. John Health.
