The American Cancer Society is the nationwide, community-based, voluntary health organization dedicated to eliminating cancer as a major health problem by preventing cancer, saving lives and diminishing suffering from cancer, through research, education, advocacy and service.

Description

Cancer survivors are the guests of honor walking the first lap marking the start of Relay. The focal point of the evening is the luminaria ceremony honoring those who lost their fight against cancer and celebrating those who have won that battle. It is a festive atmospher with activities for all ages. Teams camp out at this over-night event.
