To provide underserved youth a path to empowerment and educational excellence through academic programming, college access skills, and personal development.

Description

The Manifest Your Destiny Foundation, is a non-profit youth organization established by Ivy League actor Hill Harper. Despite his many accolades, or maybe because of them, Hill Harper made a commitment to work in service of our youth - to pass along the lessons he learned and to provide a foundation for young under served teens to use as a launching pad to academic success.

Summer Empowerment Academy:

The foundation's flagship program is the Summer Empowerment Academy (SEA), created to address the high school dropout epidemic. SEA is a mentoring and educational support program for eighth graders entering the ninth grade from economically challenged neighborhoods.

Currently, participating students attend a week-long training the summer after their eighth grade year, then attend monthly workshops every third Saturday throughout their ninth grade year.

The 2013 cohort will begin with a Kickoff program on Sunday, July 21st and will end on Friday, July 26th.
