Mission Statement

For 26 years the mission of the Child Abuse Prevention Program (CAPP) has been to insure that New York City's children receive their basic right to be safe.

CAPP's effective Child Safety Workshop teaches children to recognize resist and report physical and sexual abuse and ensures their understanding of their right to be safe, their right to speak up and their right to a childhood that is free from abuse.

Description

Since 1986, CAPP has educated over 420,000 children. Each year over 10,000 New York City children participate in the program, approximately 200 families are referred for assistance and 100 abuse cases are reported to child protective services.
