In addition to career training, St. Louis Job Corps also provides academic training, including basic reading and math. Courses in independent living, employability skills, and social skills are offered in order to help students transition into the workplace. We also have several academic programs to help our students achieve their full potential. One of our top goals at St. Louis Job Corps is to ensure that every qualified student obtains his or her GED/high school diploma prior to leaving the center. Students who don't already have a high school diploma upon their arrival at St. Louis can enroll into our GED program. Participation in the GED program requires students to complete preparatory course work and to successfully complete the Tests of Adult Basic Education (TABE). To qualify for participation in our high school diploma program, students must be between the ages of 16-20 and must have a copy of their high school transcripts. Students under 21 years of age may enroll in our Normandy Technical High School Program which is operated under the supervision of the Normandy School District. College Training - Advanced Career Training (ACT) Our students may also start their college education via our partnerships with the St. Louis Community Colleges, University of Missouri at St. Louis, and Harris Stowe University.
