Mission Statement
Like so many others, EF has been faced with many hurdles to climb, some more drastic than others. Currently, there is a great need for volunteer host families in the Bakersfield area. We have students from China, Spain.Indonesia coming this summer with 220 students and we still need to place some more by July 10th. These students will be here soon and what a warm and wonderful feeling they will experience when they see your smiling face welcoming them to Bakersfield.
EF Educational Homestay Programs host families have helped students discover the world and connect with people from around the globe. Year after year, our students tell us what a fantastic time they had here in the states and it was all due to their volunteer host families that not only opened their homes but opened their hearts and took a chance by letting a stranger in.
As most of you know, this is a wonderful opportunity to make new friends - across cultural lines, to show love to a lost world and perhaps even to affect personal and international futures. These young students may never have another chance to meet warm and gracious people, such as you, living in the United States or experience the positive side of our American lifestyle.
If you can help us by hosting a student please contact me as soon as possible, or if you know of someone that might be interested please let me know. There is another way to help and that would be to forward this on to others that you know. The more people that can hear of our need for help the better chance we have of placing all of these students by July 10th.EF will give a $25 referral fee to any individual that refers a family to host for the 15 days the students are here.
