The Society is a National, voluntary health organization dedicated to improving the lives of people with Huntington's Disease and their families.

The Maine Affiliate organizes Team Hope Walk, Run, Bike each October as a fundraiser. The affiliate advocates at state and national levels for legislation to support families with HD. It provides education days for professionals, caregivers, and families affected by the disease. it holds a monthly support group. It also works to promote awareness of Huntington's disease.
