Mission Statement

BYSO provides a full orchestral program and supports the whole child by giving students opportunities to discover the joy of making music, promoting personal responsibility, fostering educational excellence, and enriching our communities. The development of music skills and self-confidence is encouraged by rehearsing and performing orchestral literature which appropriately challenges students’ skills. Conductors, coaches and staff treat the students as serious musicians, yet also treat them as the fun "kids" they are.
