Mission Statement
The mission of Prevent Child Abuse Vermont is to promote and support healthy relationships between children and the people who care for them in order to eliminate child abuse and neglect.
Description
Prevent Child Abuse VT is the Vermont Chapter of Prevent Child Abuse America and the National Circle of Parents. Our goals are to provide, develop and advance child abuse prevention programs; inform Vermonters about child abuse prevention; promote their participation in prevention; and assist in the development of improved child abuse prevention policies. PCAV serves several thousands of children, adolescents, parents, caregivers and educators each year through the implementation of the following programs: Parents Together Support Groups, Nurturing Parenting Programs, Care for Kids, Shaken Baby Syndrome Prevention, Nurturing Healthy Sexual Development, Understanding and Responding to the Sexual Behavior of Children, Sexual Abuse Free Environment for Teens, Vermont Parents' Home Companion and Resource Directory, and our Parents Stress Line, 1-800-CHILDREN.
