Mission Statement

Delta Animals Safe Haven (DASH) was established to provide an additional and alternative adoption center for homeless animals in the Sacramento River Delta area, thereby reducing overcrowding in the only animal shelter in East Contra Costa County, the Antioch Animal Shelter.

Two well established rescue groups in East County, Homeless Animals Response Program (HARP) and Homeless Animals Lifeline Organization (HALO) working collaboratively with the DASH Board of Directors, will coordinate the organization, management and financing of this new facility as well as recruiting other rescue groups to become members of the cooperative.

Outreach programs will be developed that will encourage responsible pet ownership through the training, spaying, neutering, licensing and micro-chipping of pets.

Description

By rescuing these animals from the Antioch Shelter, we foster them and get them ready for adoptions. They are taken to many Contra Costa County animal events such as the H.A.L.O. Ramble and ARF'S Animals on Broadway. We network with the Antioch Shelter, other rescues, local veterinarians, and pet stores. Twice a week we take our animals to adoption events. We work on raising community awareness on rescue animals, and how to help them find a new home.
