The mission of the Wildwoods Foundation is to equip the children, families, and educators of Los Angeles to practice the principles of ecoliteracy in creating sustainable, harmonious communities.
Founded in the aftermath of the tragic school shooting at Columbine, the Wildwoods Foundation uses ecology as a springboard to help young people understand that the principles governing nature's ecosystems -interdependence, diversity and sustainability- are just as important to the social fabric of our schools, communities and workplaces.
Now a part of the Magnolia Community Initiative, a collective impact project of 75 agencies and organizations serving 500 blocks between downtown Los Angeles and the USC campus, Wildwoods is contributing to the resiliency of families by providing increased access to nature.
