Mission Statement

Mission The Center for the Arts of Bonita Springs is committed to enrich the culture of our diverse community by providing opportunities for artistic expression, education and appreciation in a supportive and nurturing environment.

Description

We have two beautiful campuses. One, the Center for Visual Arts, on Old 41 Road, is 10-acres, provides programming for thousands year round in visual arts--painting, drawing, sculpture, photography, glass; exhibition galleries with monthly shows, a Gift Store and an art library.

Our Center for Performing Arts is located on Bonita Beach Road, provides classes workshops, performances in music, theater, dance and film. We also host the Bonita Springs International Film Festival (BIFF), yearlong Performance Series includes jazz, classical and contemporary music, dance from many cultures around the world and community theater productions for youth and adults. Performances take place weekday evenings and weekend afternoons and evenings.

We host the three high-ranked Bonita Springs National Art festivals January, February and March that bring hundreds of artists each month to our city, providing opportunities to view and enjoy art from around the US and around the world, and our Bonita Springs International Film Festival (BIFF) the end of February.

Our galleries on both campuses host local, regional and national exhibitions, featuring art from local artists as well as unique artistic experiences curated by some of our best museums around the world.

I volunteered to help teens paint bowling pins, yes, I did say bowling pins. The group was from a teen at-risk center and they have an event coming up--no idea what to do with the bowling pins to make them special. Center for Arts staff and volunteers said 'come on down and we'll help you'. They brought out paints and all kinds of other supplies and helped these teens decorate the bowling pins into faces, creatures, designs. They provided snacks and drinks. The staff and volunteers were personal, warm and friendly. What a great experience and a great group of people!
