The American Cancer Society is the nationwide, community-based, voluntary health organization dedicated to eliminating cancer as a major health problem by preventing cancer, saving lives and diminishing suffering from cancer, through research, education, advocacy and service.

Description

Our goals are to achieve a 50% reduction in age-adjusted cancer mortality by the year 2015

To achieve a 25% age-adjusted cancer incidence by the year 2015

By 2015 there will be a measureable improvement in the quality of life, (physical, psychological, social and spiritual) from the time of diagnosis and for the balance of life for all cancer survivors
