Here's a sample of our volunteer opportunities:VIEW AS
Pine Meadow Farm Center is a non-profit educational hub for learning, teaching, and research focused on creating a vibrant and viable local food system. We operate a dynamic working farm, demonstrating Permaculture and sustainability principles. We train new farmers, children, youth, and others interested in the art of food production and simple living skills. We provide wholesome food with equitable pricing to our surrounding communities. Our goal is to be an ecologically sound, socially responsible, economically viable, and personally fulfilling resource and refuge for the community.
The Pine Meadow Farm Center is a 32-acre teaching farm located very near the cities of Spokane and Cheney in Washington State. The Center is working hard to become a regional destination for experiential education centered around nutrition, farming, gardening and sustainable living skills tailored for audiences of all ages. The farm currently features a one-acre, intensive production market garden, two greenhouses with a third under construction, a herd of 15 dairy goats, a flock of chickens, a large raspberry patch, a small orchard, a 10-acre hay field, 5 acres of goat pasture, a 7-acre forest and a good deal of open land waiting to be put to productive use. The Center is a private, non-profit, all-volunteer organization and a sponsored project of the Seattle-based Cascade Harvest Coalition. The Center is dedicated to contributing to the general improvement of our regional food system through agricultural education. We see our role as a partner with other educational institutions and resources in the region as we collectively address important issues affecting the future of our region's young people, especially issues of nutrition, food security, food production and the regional food economy.
