Mission Statement

1 Little Meals' mission is to ensure that children are properly nourished so they are equipped and prepared to learn. Healthy, nutritious meals are necesallow to allow them to excel and reach their highest academic,mental, and physical potential. By reaching out to the community through philanthropic outreach efforts and exercising free food opportunities we are closer at reaching our goal of assuring availability of such meals to at-risk and low-income families, as well as facilitation to senior citizens to ensure all have the ability to reach their greatest capabilities.

Description

We prepare, transport and distribute free food to children from low-income families.

I needed an organization that I could volunteer for with my family and when I called the director said that she had a small space and she didn't want any volunteers as young as my son. She didn't want to be responsible for him. He is 4 yrs old and I have explained to him that we have a responsibility to help others in need so he's aware. I am his parent along with his father who will also be helping, we'll be with him the entire time so the only people that would be responsible for him are us, his parents. I just don't understand why an organization would turn people away that are interested in serving others?
