Strikes Against Cancer started with the dream of Geordon Cox, an 11 year old boy, who wanted to give his mother a Christmas present that would last forever. Geordon is a member of the Fellowship of Christian Athletes and attends the Faith Christian Academy in McKinney, Texas. Throughout his mother’s two-year battle against cancer, all she wanted to do is see Geordon pitch. Watching his mom coming to the park not feeling well after a weeks of chemotherapy, Geordon thought of a way to support her, and all mothers fighting cancer. His idea was to get family members and friends to pledge anything they could for every strike thrown over the season.
