Mission Statement

The mission of Virginia Voice is to make available to blind, severely visually impaired and physically disabled individuals the reading of current printed information and other specialized information that is generally unavailable to them.

Description

Virginia Voice is a non-profit radio reading service for those who are unable to read for themselves because of a visual impairment or other disability. Virginia Voice broadcats daily an organized program of readings of current printed material, including newspapers, magazines, books and publications of various organizations.

In Central Virginia the programming is available through special radios to people living within a 40-mile radius of Richmond. The service is similarly available in the Hampton Roads area throughout a 40-mile radius of Norfolk.
