Mission Statement

Arizona Equine Rescue Organization, Inc. is a non-profit organization committed to the services of animal rescue and community outreach to aid in the prevention of equine abuse and neglect. Emphasizing compassion and caring, we will achieve this mission by providing medical and urgent care needs to horses and will combine these efforts with at-risk youth to participate in the animal's healing process as well as the child's. The organization's activities and outreach are based on and guided by compassion and goodwill so we enrich the lives of those in our community.

Description

The Arizona Equine Rescue Organization (AERO) specializes in rescuing horses that require urgent and critical care. Our average rescue usually requires surgery and about 6 to 12 months of rehabilitation before they are ready to be adopted.

The Arizona Equine Rescue Organization provides community outreach and education. AERO was founded for the purposes of equine rescue, rehabilitation, and creating a productive life for unwanted horses and provides a community resource for youth who find solace in spending time with the horses.

The need for rescue and rehab is evident. The Maricopa County Sheriff's office and the AZ Livestock Board see hundreds of abuse cases each year but state laws do not allow easy seizure. And only through collaborative partnerships with law enforcement, equine health care providers, and community awareness, is AERO able to make a difference one horse and child at a time!

I've been volunteering at AZ Equine Rescue Org. since May. It's been a very rewarding experience to be around these special horses.
