Description

At Technology Bridges, we strive to find ambitious high school and college students who want to serve the people who have built our community. The digital divide has left senior citizens in the dust of the technology boom, and we are here to bridge that gap. Volunteers mentor a senior for 8 weeks, 1 time per week for 1 to 2 hours, answering all of their questions about how to use technology including everything from how to use a mouse, "how to Skype with grandchildren", to "how to create their own facebook account" and teaching them how to use it. We will not stop until every senior in the world that wants to learn how to use technology to better their lives, has the opportunity. Not only do seniors become "tech savvy", but the volunteers can learn a lot about face to face communication from their "Mentees", and we hope to create lasting relationships between our "Mentors" and "Mentees".
