Mission Statement

The mission of Sound Circle Eurythmy is to increase understanding and appreciation for the artistic, educational, therapeutic, and social benefits of eurythmy and its unique role in the modern world by actively contributing to the cultural life of the Rocky Mountain region and beyond.

Description

Sound Circle Eurythmy (SCE) provides a comprehensive 4-year training program in the art of Eurythmy and is one of only two schools in the US offering professional Eurythmy Training. SCE also serves public and private schools and local communities by presenting Eurythmy performances of the Sound Circle Eurythmy Ensemble. A special program each spring is geared to children and other performances throughout the year are offered to the wider audience.

Eurythmy is a movement discipline based on the embodiment and expression of human-produced sound, both as speech and music. It is a creative and playful artistic modality, which promotes the integration of cognitive, emotional, and kinesthetic functioning in those who practice it. Participants experience enlivened personal and social sensitivity throughout their normal daily activities. Audience members merely seeing eurythmy performed often speak of its relaxing, harmonizing, and humanizing effects, recognizing its ability to foster a deep sense of connection to self, world, and community.
