Mission Statement

At Big Brothers Big Sisters of Volusia/Flagler Counties, our work is as elementary as putting a friend in a child's life and as essential as putting hope in a child's future. We believe the younger we can reach a child with a troubled past or present, the more likely we are to make a lasting impact that will result in real change and success for that child's future. Simply put, we provide trusted volunteers (friends) for children who need and want them. The mission of Big Brothers Big Sisters is to help children in need reach their potential through professionally supported, one-to-one mentoring relationships with volunteers.

Description

We have a vision to develop the resources, environment and mechanisms to provide caring adults in the life of every child in need. To achieve our vision, we will continue to build on our century-long history of commitment to excellence and of valuing all individuals, respecting their efforts, abilities and differences. Big Brothers Big Sisters is an acknowledged leader in building professionally supported, dynamic relationships, which unite children with committed volunteers. These relationships are primarily on a one-to-one basis, transforming their lives while enriching families, communities, and our society.
