Mission Statement

iCanSHine's mission is to teach people (primarily youth) the skills in order to ride a bicyle. They do this by running bike camps nationwide that successfully teach participants how to ride a bike. AAThey strive to empower people to be fully included in their participation in recreational activities with a focus on bicycling.

Description

iCanSHine has been operating bicylce camps for people with diagnosed disabilities since 1999. They bring a five day bike camp to communites,bringing staff and specially adapted bicycles in order to facilitate the teaching of biking. In every community that a bike camp,two volunteers are assigned to work with each participant for the week to support them in learning to ride a bicycle. By the end of the week approximately eighty per cent of the participants can succesfully, independently ride a bicycle.
