Description
20/20 Leadership is an 18 month personal, educational and leadership development program for high school juniors and seniors.
Curriculum includes: College visits, Business Expo, Resume Workshops, Personal Development, State and Local Government, Scholarships and Essay Workshops, College Expo, Prison and Detox visits (Personal Choice), Adventure Course/Team Building, Law/Finance, and Work and College Readiness alumni panels sharing experiences. Juniors complete a School or Community Themed project in "20/20 Olympics" where through project based learning, students learn to improve their community while working on a team of peers. Twenty high schools in the Kansas City Missouri, Kansas City Kansas, Turner, Bonner Springs, Independence, Hickman Mills School Districts and charter school, University Academy participate. Student Responsibility:
- Attend School Every Day and On Time
- Focus on GPA
- RSVP
- Actively participate by attending monthly meetings
- Sit with someone student doesn’t know
- Have fun
After working with students from August to December, if student has two unexcused absences they are dropped from the program. Learning to RSVP teaches "personal responsibility". An RSVP made by a parent will not be accepted.
