We believe that all children have the right to grow up in safe, healthy, nurturing families that are supported by their communities. Our goal is to give all families the opportunity to receive support in enhancing the richness of their lives and maximizing the achievement of their potentials in a changing society.
Description
The Darcy J. Foundation, Inc. was established as a 501(c)(3) organization in 2008 by Darcy S. Johnson, a young man with an urge to bring community events, activities and programs that would cater to children, adults and families, to his home town of Palatka, Florida. This opportunity was his chance to give back to a community that gave so much to him.
Today, The Darcy J. Foundation not only serves his home town, but has expanded its efforts to Central and South Florida communities, serving more than 1,000 children, adults and families each day as they participate in a variety of programs and activities offered by the foundation.
Within the last four years the foundation has serviced children, adults and their families from the cities of Pompano Beach, Orlando, and Palatka, Florida through its Gift Program, Back to School Bash and other activities and programs.
The Darcy J. Foundation is governed by an active 10-member volunteer board of directors, that represent North, Central and South Florida. We partner with various community businesses, other foundations and schools to furnish our yearly activities and programs that foster social and intellectual awareness in health, education, and community involvement. All of our programs for children and families also foster an appreciation of diversity.
