Mission Statement

JCHE's mission is twofold: providing (1) quality housing for low-income seniors and (2) an enriching and supportive environment in which tenants can live out their lives in their own homes.

Description

Mission

Our Mission is to give every senior the opportunity to live a full life of connection and purpose in a dynamic, supportive environment-we call this aging in community. With chronic loneliness identified as the biggest health hazard for aging adults, our model is critical in promoting healthy aging.

About

We provide 1,200 units of superior affordable housing with support services that meet the needs of diverse residents as they age. We build connections and community within our walls and in our surrounding neighborhoods while promoting aging in community as a preferred choice for healthy aging.

JCHE’s affordable communities are located in Boston, Newton, and Framingham. Our Brighton campus with 3 attached buildings-Ulin, Leventhal, and Kurlat houses-serves 900 seniors in 700 apartments. We have two properties in Newton-Golda Meir House and Coleman House-serving 437 seniors in 345 apartments. And we have one property in Framingham-Shillman House-serving 163 seniors in 150 units. We maintain our properties to the highest standards with on-site maintenance and emergency response in each building 24/7/365.
