Mission Statement

JCHE's mission is twofold: providing (1) quality housing for low-income seniors and (2) an enriching and supportive environment in which tenants can live out their lives in their own homes.

Description

Jewish Community Housing for the Elderly (JCHE) is made up of five buildings on three sites in the Boston area, providing affordable nonsectarian housing to over 1,300 older adults of diverse backgrounds, whose average age is 80 and average income $9,000. All older adults who live at JCHE are independent and able to care for themselves with some services offered. Through an extensive array of award winning, life-enhancing and life-supporting programs and services, tenants are able to remain engaged and active in the community, living in their own JCHE apartments, even as they face the challenges of aging. These programs include computer programs, fitness and exercise programs, intergenerational programs, and volunteer opportunities both in and out of our buildings.
