Mission Statement

HOP/s mission, is to provide direct services and a place of recovery and collaboration for members of the outdoor-graphic. We provide a place, space, voice, forum, advocacy, transitional skills training and a speakers bureau.

Description

HOP, is a transformational non-governmental organization, that was created, incorporated and (is) staffed, mostly by unpaid volunteer-members of the outdoor-demographic; individuals that are in recovery and regaining their status' in life. Many of our members, clients and newcomers - were down-sized, repositioned, outsourced from their prior occupations.

Our objective is simply this, to assist members of the outdoor-demographic (and others that are in need of help due to down-sizing, repositioning...) that believe in the principles of self-help, and will work to help themselves to return to vitality. We teach members of the outdoor-demographic, to first of all be responsible; and to take charge of their destinies and recoveries. Along with that, we help by providing space, workstations, resource help, vocational training, beginner business training, connections, referrals...

We discourage dependency, receiving handouts only, and being enabled. HOP's offices, and modest training center has helped a number of individuals to recover, and get on with their lives. The former includes finding places to live, creating income-producing opportunities, participating in decision-making strategies and planning for other members of the outdoor-demographic, along with themselves.

In addition to providng direct services, forums, planning, speakers bureau, vocational training... we distribute clothing food and clothing, provide a speaker's bureau, consultation, weekly Public-Policy forums and self-help transformational meetings and training. We partner with numerous organizations in the area, operating within the same space. There are no charges for our services. We receive funding from individual donors, faith-based organizations...

We are fully funded, by the goodwill gifts of the public, faith-based groups... we do not receive any support from the government. We are always looking for volunteer foundation help, researchers, trainers (with different skillsets), visionaries ...
