Mission Statement
Lewa USA advocates, advises, builds constituencies and mobilizes funding to sustain and expand the Lewa Wildlife Conservancy’s unique model of community-based conservation
Description
Lewa USA supports the growth of community based conservation that includes wildlife protection, particularly at this time of Rhino, Elephant, Grevy's Zebra, Lion, Sitatunga and Wild Dog. We support 20 schools, provide hundreds of scholarships, operate 4 health clinics, provide micro-financing to more than 1,000 women, help develop sustainable water and bio-fuel programs and employ 300 local people in our work. As partners in supporting conservation as a development tool we work with our community friends to build hopeful futures and to conserve the national heritage of the widlife that symbolizes Africa.
