The mission of the Koreatown Youth and Community Center Inc. (KYCC) is to serve the evolving needs of the Korean American population in the greater Los Angeles Area as well as the multi-ethnic Koreatown community. KYCC's programs & services are directed toward recently immigrated, economically disadvantaged youth and families, and to promote community socioeconomic empowerment.
Koreatown Youth and Community Center is involved in a variety of programs which serve the needs of our youth (K-12). In order to supplement the education of our youth at school, the academic portion of KYCC has taken the initiative to provide tutorial services for all in need. We provide tutoring, technology training, and life skills for youth at Berendo Middle School in affiliation with Los Angeles Bridges. Our organization also has an after school Drop-in Center at Los Angeles High school where we recruit college volunteers to tutor youth who have difficulty at school. Our site also has a newly built Learning Center where students of all ages will have an opportunity to further their education through academic programs and workshops. In an effort to bridge the educational gap in our community, KYCC is creating a venue for youth to gain access to all forms of knowledge on the proverbial learning tree.
