Description

By the end of 2010, more than 85,000 youth, ages 5-18, were being served by the Boys and Girls Clubs in New Jersey. The New Jersey BGC is specifically designed to grant special guidance for at-risk children, to advocate for and with youth from differing backgrounds and cultures, and to grant affordable programs to all its members. These programs leverage support through public and private partnerships in their communities, and have demonstrated exceptional sustainability. Such programs address critical needs such as academic success, healthy lifestyles, character development, and leadership.

The Boys and Girls Club in Paterson and Passaic serves, on average, 1,000 children per day in their respective communities. They offer the same exemplary programs one could expect to find at the Boys and Girls Club, adding exciting new programs with a focus in reading, technology, swimming, and the performing arts within the last 10 years. The BGC of Paterson and Passaic strategically focuses on addressing the needs of teenagers, especially as it pertains to their success in graduating high school, all while creating a safe and fun learning environment for their members and communities
