Mission Statement

Spark helps students in the middle grades discover who they can be today and in the future through our one-of-a-kind Career Exploration program that is facilitated through a passionate network of volunteer mentors.

Description

Understand What’s Possible:
Labs

Seventh graders participate in Spark Labs, or 2-hour on-site workshops, hosted by local companies. Employee volunteers guide students through group activities that build skills and expand awareness of career options - and have a lot of fun while they are doing it!

Experience What’s Possible: Mentorships

Spark connects 7th-grade students with volunteer mentors based on common interests and skills for Workplace-Based Mentorships. Throughout a 13-week partnership, Spark Students and Mentors work together to complete a project related to their career aspirations.

Make Possibility Real: High School Pathways

Spark offers High School Pathways workshops to 7th and 8th-grade students so they can take action and feel equipped with the knowledge and resources to make the possibilities they’ve experienced real.
