Our Meals on Wheels program is in immediate need of volunteer delivery drivers. Drivers are staggered in their pick up times between 9a-9:30a on Wednesday. Depending on the routes, the time it takes for deliveries varies from 2-3 hours. Mileage reimbursement is offered. DUTIES MAY INCLUDE: Delivering a hot, nutritious noon time meal to home bound seniors Act as a safety "check-in" person for home bound seniors Reporting to Spectrum Generations if recipient does not answer their door Must have the ability to lift 25 lbs. Must be a licensed driver with a safe driving record and carry the State’s mandated limit of Liability Insurance. Volunteers who can't commit for every week are still encouraged to inquire, we need a substitute driver for Waldo County as well.

Spectrum Generations Muskie Community Center is in need of Substitute Meals on Wheels Driver. Delivery days are Tuesdays and Thursdays. Routes vary, the Substitute Driver would pick up a meals and deliver to local home-bound older adults, when normal route Driver is unable to drive that day. Spectrum Generations Cohen Community Center and Muskie Community Center have an urgent need for Medicare Educators for Augusta, Belfast, Camden, Hallowell, Skowhegan, and Waterville. Days and Times are flexible after initial training. Duties may include: Assisting with administration: such as copying, filing, data entry, assembling Medicare 101 packets and taking inbound calls to schedule appointments for Medicare 101 sessions or counseling sessions. Distributing information: helping with transporting and disseminating SHIP/SMP information to sites and events, may include presenting prepared copy or preforming scripted activities for small groups. Staffing Exhibits: help by staffing information tables or exhibits at events such as health fairs, also may provide general information about SHIP/SMP to the public and answer basic questions. Making group presentations: Help by giving presentations on SHIP/SMP topics to small and large groups. May interact with the audience by answering questions and through discussion. Counseling: help by having direct conversations with beneficiaries about their individual situations; may include review of personal information such as Medicare Summary Notices, billing statements and other health documents. (This job requires the volunteer to be experienced and mentored under staff supervision). Managing complex interactions: Help with in-depth interactions with beneficiaries who are reporting specific instances of healthcare fraud, errors and abuse. (this job requires the volunteer to be experienced and mentored under staff supervision). Receive Beneficiary Complaints: When Medicare beneficiaries, caregivers, and family members bring their complaints to the SMP, the SMP makes a determination about whether or not fraud, errors, or abuse is suspected. When fraud or abuse is suspected, they make a referral to the appropriate state and federal agencies for further investigation
