To make assistive technology more available, affordable and usable for Marylanders with disabilities.

Description

The Maryland Technology Assistance Program (MD TAP) helps Maryland residents with disabilities get "assistive technology" to live, work or learn more independently. The agency:

  • Demonstrates devices
  • Lends equipment (to try before buying)
  • Helps secure funding and operates a low-interest loan program for technology
  • Offers technology training
  • Recycles used equipment

MD TAP helps thousands of Marylanders reach their goals to live more independently and safely in their homes, return home from institutions (or avoid being institutionalized), get jobs, start businesses, succeed in education, travel freely and participate more fully in their communities.
