Mission Statement

Our mission is to provide all artists with opportunities for fellowship, inspiration and education by organizing, promoting and presenting monthly meetings with educational lectures by guest artists, workshops, and juried exhibitions. We coordinate and participate with other community groups in art-related events to increase our visibility, provide art education, and showcase our community's creativity, derived from the freedom of artistic expression.

Description

Established in 1992, The VFAA's goal is to share the benefits of creativity with our community. Artists and art lovers gather together to make fine arts education and events a part of the Greater Huron Valley experience. We provide informative and instructional meetings that are free and open to the public, the fourth Wednesday of each month. Some of the featured speakers include photographers, illustrators, watercolorists, jewelers, potters, sculptors and more. We coordinate two Fine Art Competitions: Poetry Art Night (PAN), in collaboration with the Milford Public Library. PAN is a unique pairing of Art and Poetry, celebrated with live music by local musicians. Our second event is Views and Visions, in collaboration with the Huron Valley Council for the Arts. V&V includes a competition category for young artists under the age of 18 and is also celebrated with live local music. Also, the VFAA coordinates with area businesses to create new spaces for members to display their artwork within the community.
