Mission Statement

Art in Print is an international journal and website devoted to the art of the print. We aim to serve the needs of the international museum, collector, artist, scholar, and print dealer communities, as well as to offer an entry point for people outside the field.

Art in Print is the only print publication with a laser focus on contemporary print scholarship and its relationship to the broader art world. As exhibitions, books, and new works continue to proliferate, our goal is to become the "go to" information source, the first stop for anyone who wants to know what is going on in the print world today.

Description

Art in Print was founded in 2011 to provide a venue for critical and scholarly writing about artist’s prints, both historical and contemporary, and to provide a central resource for print information, news, and events. The Art in Print website and journal address topics from Durer to Warhol, from Beijing to Brooklyn, and from connoisseurship to vandalism.

The Art in Print journal appears six times a year and is available as a printed journal and as a digital publication.

artinprint.org provides free access to reviews of exhibitions, editions, and books; a worldwide calendar of print exhibitions, fairs, auctions, lectures and other events; links to information on the history, making, and collecting of prints; and a selection of articles from the journal.

Through our online news feed, event calendar, and e-blasts, we provide users with up-to-the-minute news and events in a clean, easy-to-navigate format.

Art in Print is a not-for-profit 501(c)(3) corporation. Our funders include The Dedalus Foundation, The Samuel H. Kress Foundation, The IFPDA Foundation, The Schwab Charitable Trust, The California Community Foundation, as well as individual donors.
